Dress up for Sports Day on Feb. 6th in honor of the Super Bowl this weekend and the start of the Winter Olympics! You can dress up as any sports team! If you don't have a favorite, you can wear an ACE shirt too! Have fun!
To celebrate the 100th day of school yesterday, students, staff, and volunteers dressed up as 100-year-olds and the results were priceless! So much fun marking 100 days of learning and growing!!

Indoor recess last week called for some creative movement! 🥁 Miss Nelson’s 4th graders had a blast moving their bodies with DrumFit on Friday. Huge thank you to the Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Association for supporting grants that help keep our students active and smiling!
On Friday, our third graders stepped into the world of real science at Sanford Promise Research Lab! 🍓🧬 They learned what DNA is, extracted it from strawberries, and toured the lab to see science in action. Seeing their curiosity and excitement was the best part. A huge thank you to Sanford Promise Lab, Louisa, and Ben for inspiring our young scientists and to our parents for driving us there!
Our after school Chess Club meets every Wednesday and continues to be a wonderful tradition for our 4th and 5th grade students. This program provides a space for students to build critical thinking, problem-solving, and sportsmanship skills while enjoying friendly competition with peers and other schools.
We are proud of the focus, teamwork, and enthusiasm shown each week and grateful to those who help make this opportunity possible for our students including Kevan family, chess master, David K, and Anthony Pizer for his guidance. Chess Club is a great example of learning extending beyond the classroom in meaningful ways.

Friday, January 23, 2026, will be a Remote Learning Day in the Sioux Falls School District!
iPads and Chromebooks were sent home with each student earlier today. We will not have in-person learning in the schools, but students are expected to connect to their Canvas account from home for assignments and learning resources. They have practiced this at school and know what is expected of them.

Third graders had fun using their STEM materials from previous grants Miss Leloux received from the Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation donors. They used VR (Virtual Reality) goggles, handheld and standing microscopes, and magnetic marble runs. Cool!

5th graders read the book, Christmas Jars, as an annual 5th grade tradition and were inspired to help others! They raised money through bubble gum sales and gave out 4 jars to those in need with the money raised. They went to deliver them to the families around town and to one nonprofit, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, who provides beds for kids in need in our community (4th and 5th graders make tie blankets for them each month as well through Kids Care). What a valuable lesson to learn the value of giving back! Way to go!
Students in Kindergarten and 2nd grade had a lot of fun making Christmas trees with PE materials! So creative!
